    Fabulous

Hotel and Valet staff very friendly, helpful and accomodating.

They could improve on their choice of bath soap (didn't lather very well). Tv / Remote dated. No pen and paper in the room to use. The advertised Wi-Fi availability, making it sound as if it was hotel wide..when in fact it was only availble in the lobby and restaurant!

On arrival our room was absolutely filthy and run down. for example. Blood stained bedding, soiled carpets, furniture damaged and sub standard, bathroom tiles and shower area covered in mould. bathroom sink surround cracked, windows filthy. After complaining we were relocated to another room which was basically of the same standard. The room was also dirty and run down. Bed bugs appeared to be present as both myself and partner had numerous insect bites each morning. Damaged walls had temporary repairs which had been filled but unpainted. Sliding bathroom door would not lock. No storage space, poor lighting and dangerous which resulted in partner tripping and splitting lip. We looked into changing hotel but unfortunately all hotels in the surrounding area were fully booked. With no other option we had to endure 4 nights in this sad excuse for a hotel. The Hotel was of such poor quality it completely ruined my stay in Boston. I am happy to provide picture of the above problems and would welcome a response.

    The location was excellent

The room we stayed did NOT have any fire escape sketch. This alone is enough for a "never again" judgment. It was a small room with unsufficient equipment. Historical building from the outside - no charm whatsoever on the inside. The personnel at the reception is not trained as they should. They could only offer a continental breakfast.

    Superb

We stayed in an executive room on the 7th floor which was very spacious and comfortable. The room and bathroom were both very clean throughout our trip. The location was excellent for walking to the Common, Little Italy and across the bridge to Cambridge. One night we dined at the tapas bar on the ground floor where the food and service were both very good. We were there just before Hurricane Sandy hit and the reception staff kindly let us phone our airline from their telephone. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

There was no safe in the room. On two days we had breakfast in the ground floor tapas bar; it was excellent on the first day but on the second the service left a lot to be desired. After that we ate elsewhere.

    Fabulous

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was excellent. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were large and spacious. Unlike one review I read, there was lots of hot water in the morning for a shower.

No luggage racks in rooms. No morning newspaper available either at room door or available for purchase in lobby. Had to go around the corner to the Seven Eleven to buy a paper.

We loved everything at the Bulfinch Hotel. My 3 years stills talks about his trip to Boston. He and I really enjoyed the energy the Hotel Manager (Mr. Joseph) and Staff gave us. The room was just enough space for us and it was inviting/ comfortable- We Really enjoyed our stay..

The Bulfinch Hotel was absolutely awesome! It was very clean and the ladies at the front desk were great! I would definitely stay here again! Staying in the Executive King Suite was pricey but worth it. The view was beautiful!!

    Very good

The location is perfect for walking the freedom trail and dining in the north end. The front desk staff (Tom in particular) were excellent . . . very helpful and knowledgeable. Also, the air conditioning was excellent in each of the 3 rooms we visited . . . very important during the heat of summer.

Rooms were "tired" . . . old, worn carpet and beat up furnishings . . . functional, but old. The hotel is starting renovation.

    Superb

We loved the location, staff and helpfulness of everyone.

Double beds NEVER comfortable for 2. 3 people in a room with 2 double beds meant two of us always crowded (and we are smaller people). Queen beds would have equalled PERFECTION in everything!

    Very good

Basically a good middle-range hotel in a great location

I arrived at 8 PM exhausted after a five hour drive. The hotel told me they had no room, even though I was confirmed through Booked.net. They told me there were "maintenance issues" but I think the real reason was they had overbooked. Boston was crowded that night. After a 30-minute search the sullen woman at the front desk finally got me into a smoking room at a Red Roof 12 miles north of Boston. I was able to stay at the Bulfinch for the second night. Although they waived the charges I would never stay there again. They could have called me earlier to let me know I would need to find another place. A real disaster.

    Superb

The location was perfect and the price reasonable. We requested extra hangers and the front desk had them to us pronto.

First day forgot and left out Do Not Disturb and they did not disturb. We were gone entire day so came back to room as we left it with wet towels and no coffee supplies for next day. Next day housekeeping did come but forgot to give us any bath towels, refill our empty Kleenex box or give us coffee supplies.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay with one exception; one of the beds in our room was soaked through wet from the bead spread to the mattress. The hotel was gracious enough to comp a meal for us however it did not discount the fact that we NEEDED both beds. On a more pleasant note, one staff member in particular, Perpetual, is a lovely human being and would be an excellent representative on a higher level of ANY hospitality related business! We have recommended the hotel and would stay again when next in our beloved Boston.

    Good

The location was good and using the subway lines you were very flexible. The bed (King Size) was big and very comfortable.

There was no Minibar and safe, which should be a must if a hotel wants to meet certain standards. The bathroom was spacious but looked empty. The internet provided was a bit slow.

My husband and I decided at the last minute to head to Boston for a few days. The Bulfinch had rooms available and the price was right. Location was perfect for us, close to the Garden, North End, Quincy Market and the waterfront. Staff was pleasant and very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
